Weekly Live Music Series Featuring Local Entertainers

Join us for a special evening of music with Benny Uyetake.


Benny Uyetake "Uncle Benny Uyetake", Born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii.

Educator as a Music teacher and department head of the arts teaching Ukulele at S.E. Kalama Intermediate in Makawao HI.


Learned the ukulele at the age of 9 by watching his dad play and also learned from Ukulele Jazz great, Jesse Kalaima, a family friend. Benny learned the guitar from his older brother at the age of 10, and played professional gigs at the age of 12, in restaurants, hotel lounges, and concerts.


Studied music at the Cornish School of Music in Seattle and The Berklee College of Music in Boston, and received a B.A. Seattle University and a M.A. Education.


At 19, worked with Dorothy Thompson, Co-Founder of the Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo. Also worked with Edith Kanakaole at Parks and Recreation.


Throughout the years worked with Jazz Alley TV, Maui Arts and Cultural Center, and also performed shows with Judy Collins, Herb Alpert, Thompson Square, Henry Kapono, Diana Ross, Jake Shimabukuro, to name a few.


Performs locally at festivals, and Restaurants, and enjoys an island lifestyle in Haiku, Maui with his lovely wife Debbie.


As part of our recent Center-wide revitalization, seating is provided throughout the property for guests to enjoy. At this time, we kindly ask guests not to bring their own chairs. Mahalo for your understanding. Our special events and entertainment are designed to complement the guest shopping and dining experience and guests are welcome to come and go as they wish.
